Wistman’s Woods

We set off from the Two Bridges Hotel (where we had just checked in to) in a hail storm. The staff said that we must be mad. The storm passed as we left the car park. We got a real stomp on as Wistman’s was a few miles away and it wasn’t long until sunset. We got to the woods just as another hail cloud passed over, and we sought cover under the scant, gnarly, lichen encrusted canopy.

I got my camera out of my bag, carefully picked my way over the rocks. In every direction - a scene from Willo The Wisp. Molly called over - “Look at the Moon!”. I looked up to the horizon on the moors above the woods, to see a nearly full moon rising - fading in and out, obscured by clouds. I went on to get lost in Wistman’s on a macro level. Below are a selection of photographs from the trip.
