Thought Camera #1

Silver gelatin on mirror. (approx 140x100mm)

Mounted in an antique Victorian, ornate brass frame. (300x220mm)

Made by coating the surface of the mirror with silver gelatin, and projecting onto it the image from a double exposed 35mm negative of a self portrait. The mirror is then developed in my dark room, and fixed with a chemical called ‘Black Magic’.

The image side of the mirror is exposed, so must be treated carefully (as you would treat the surface of a photograph).

The image on the mirror is ever-changing as the ambient light changes.

This is № 1 in the ongoing ‘Thought Camera’ series.
