‘Pound Hammer’ Kingswell (Victorian Ambrotype)

£38.00

Large ornate copper framed Ambrotype (1860s)

Within a leather finished hard case

(121x95mm)

An ambrotype is a photographic process on glass introduced in the early 1850s.

Both frame and image are in in lovely, original condition.

The names we have given to the ambrotypes are nicknames for identification purposes. Although he does bare a striking resemblance to a younger ‘Pound Hammer’ Kingswell of Luccombe.
