Scrying Mirror #1
Early experiments in Black Magic
Silver gelatin print on vintage freestanding mirror. (390x200mm)
Made by coating the surface of the mirror with silver gelatin, and projecting onto it the image from a 35mm black and white negative of the canopy of trees in Bonchurch Undercliff on the Isle of Wight. The glass is then developed in the dark room, and fixed with a chemical called ‘Black Magic’.
The image side of the glass is exposed, so must be treated carefully (as you would treat the surface of a photograph).
The image on the mirror is ever-changing as the ambient light changes.
This is № 1 in an ongoing series of scrying mirrors.
